Alon Ohel

Thank you to the dedication of "🎗️Counting till they are back🎗️" for getting to know some of Alon's story.

All posts are created and shared with care and best intent. Please receive any errors with kindness and understanding🙏

Alon, 24, son of Idit and Kobi, is a gifted pianist for whom music is a deeply significant part of life. In February, Alon marked his second birthday in captivity.

He began playing the piano at the age of nine, drawing inspiration from classical music and jazz. He performed a recital at the end of high school and loved joining jam sessions and improvising. Throughout his life, he was surrounded by people and friends—beloved, and deeply loving toward his family and those close to him.

After a trip to the Far East, Alon had planned to move in with friends in Tel Aviv and begin his music studies at the Rimon School in October 2023.

Every morning, Alon’s parents play the music he loves to bring a sense of positive energy and hope into their home.
Each evening, his mother leads a large group meditation dedicated to his return. Alon’s piano, engraved with the words “You are not alone,” has been placed in public spaces across the country and around the world.

“Music is a language that transcends borders,” said Alon’s father. “The act of gathering around the piano to play and sing for the hostages sends them love and strength , and helps raise awareness of the urgent need for their release.”

“Dearest and beloved Alon,
We are breathing with you and sending you strength. Hang in there just a little longer — we are bringing you home. This Tuesday evening, 10th June at 21.00, we are inviting as many as possible to listen to the song by Yehudit Ravitz, ‘Son Without a Name/Nameless Song’ as a way to powerfully connect to you and send you strength while we all hold strong the vision of you home in the arms of your family.”

The more people — men, women, and young people — who change their profile pictures to the faces of the hostages and the count of days in captivity, the more their presence will not be erased, their cries will be heard, and the more strength we can send them — to endure one more minute, one more hour, one more day, as we breathe with them and together hold the vision strong of them reunited in the arms of their families NOW. Let us, together, disrupt the status quo and bring them home.

May we courageously envision a future that is liberated from a cycle of hatred, traumatic loss and deep heart ache. One that embodies the words, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”~Buckminster Fuller
So may it be 🙏🕯️❤️‍🩹🕊️
