May you be sure to DO things every day for no ‘good’ reason.

What I mean is…
Not for the usual, measurable ‘good’ reason(s) so many things get done,
Not because there’s something to fix or change,
Not for approval or accolades,
Not for some future avoidance or gain,
Not for impressive growth curves,
Not because it’s the action labelled as most valuable, most worthwhile, most measurably impactful.

ot for all the grown-up adult ‘good’ reasons,
Not because you have to motivate to yourself or others,
Not because you’re trying to meet finite definitions of worth and value, based on how much you’ll gain, grow, achieve, earn and improve,
Based on chasing, on not enough, on out there.

May you be sure to DO things every day ‘just because…’

Just because they connect you to your aliveness,
Just because they are fun and make you smile,
Just because they connect you deeply to the present,
Just because they bring you home,
To a place of enoughness,
Fullness,
Wholeness.

Where the thoughts of ‘what’s missing’, what you may ‘want’ or ‘ask for’, what you ‘need’ are beyond foreign,
Where these thoughts simply don’t make sense anymore.
Are meaningless.
Absurd.
Ridiculous.

May you be sure to DO things every day for the sheer joy of BEING, of EXPRESSING, of SHARING, of RECEIVING.

And may this energy, this way of being, infuse and colour more of your moments.

So may it be.

Blessing backstory: A while ago I decided to find uplifting images and send them together with a blessing, a personal wish, to my immediate family. Over time it’s become a ‘daily-ish’ morning practice via WhatsApp to a slowly growing recipient list. Recently I’ve started to share these blessings and images online, with a prayer that they brighten the world of those who receive them.⁠
