There’s something so special about holding the face of someone I love and care about, between my hands and placing a kiss on their forehead or top of their head. As well as being on the receiving end of a head kiss! 🥰
Can you relate?
Personally, these moments create a pause to what so often feels like the frenzied, relentless pace of life, reminding me, inviting me to slow down, to be present and to connect…to the moment, the person before me, to what they mean to me, to what I wish for them.
Hmmm…then I got to thinking that all these sensations of this sacred pause, the expression of love, affection, appreciation and heartfelt wishes, all can be created and shared without contact between hands, heads and lips. Also through eyes, words, tone of voice, smiles and winks.
So…..
Precious heart,
May you gift and receive gentle forehead kisses,
Ones that involve…
slowing down,
the tender holding of faces between hands,
the intentional anointing of foreheads with kisses.
May you gift and receive these by hands and lips,
May you also gift and receive these by words,
by gazes,
by smiles,
by unconditionally loving open willing presence,
by tone of voice.
May you grab opportunities to express sincere appreciation,
genuine gratitude,
heartfelt wishes,
And may your expression be generous, specific and succinct.

Blessing backstory:
A while ago I decided to find uplifting images, ones that made me smile and lifted my spirit. And to send them together with a blessing, a personal wish, to my immediate family. Over time it’s become a ‘daily-ish’ morning practice via WhatsApp to a slowly growing recipient list. Recently I’ve started to share these blessings and images on social media too, with a prayer that they brighten the world of those who receive them.
