May you take that first step, faithfully and with a loving generous heart…
A blessing, a wish, from my heart to yours.
A bit of a backstory to today’s blessing.
When I was recording the podcast episode celebrating Parker Clay, the luxury handmade leather bag company that provides fair, ethical, living wage employment to women in Ethiopia, I was struck by the harsh reality of the current figures:
- 150,000 women in prostitution in Addis Ababa
- 26% of women are unemployed in Addis Ababa
- 4.6 million children are orphaned in Ethiopia
A part of me was like, ‘So how much impact can they make? With their 200+ team that is 80% women. These numbers seem so high….’
At that exact moment, as I was walking down a flight of stairs outside, I saw some fallen leaves that seemed to be in the shape of the letter ‘A’, and it was as if I heard a sacred reassuring whisper,
‘It’s ok if you can’t see the whole picture. Simply start! If you’re inspired to make the moment in front of you better for having passed before you, there’s no need to get stuck trying to figure it ALL out. Let go of seeing a clear route to a full, bigger picture solution, and just get started, like how ‘A’ starts the alphabet, just get started with that first step.’
So precious Soul,
May you be inspired to serve Life,
And when you see a challenge and you’d like to contribute to a solution, may you be ok with not seeing how to tackle the ‘whole thing’ when it may seem so big and overwhelming,
May you simplify,
May you see what action step is possible for you to take, and may you take that first step, faithfully and with a loving generous heart, resonant with the energies of possibility, inspired action, resilience and transformation.
So may it be 🙏
Much love always 💙

New episode: 308. Celebrating Parker Clay a luxury bag brand uplifting communities in Ethiopia.
A while ago I decided to find uplifting images, ones that made me smile and lifted my spirit. And to send them together with a blessing, a personal wish, to my immediate family. Over time it’s become a ‘daily-ish’ morning practice via WhatsApp to a slowly growing recipient list. Recently I’ve started to share these blessings and images on social media too, with a prayer that they brighten the world of those who receive them.
