Uriel, was 35 at the time of his murder, the son of Naomi and Amir, the third of four brothers, partner to Racheli, and father of two.
He worked in construction, loved techno music, and was surrounded by friends—most of whom affectionately called him “Badalu”. His family describes him as a joyful soul, loved by everyone around him.
On the morning of the attack, he was at the Nova party. He had already begun making his way home when he encountered the terrorists. He was shot and kidnapped. Months later, his family received the devastating news: Uriel was no longer alive, and his body was being held in Gaza.
Roy, Uriel’s brother, said after the family was informed of the murder: “We sat shiva and held all the mourning rituals, but without a grave and without the closure that should come with it. What we want now is to bring him to burial in the Land of Israel, and with God’s help, may all the hostages return.”
Let us together hold the vision of Uriel’s return — the sacred moment when he is finally laid to rest with honour, surrounded by the love of his family, friends and the embrace of the land he called home.
The more people — men, women, and young people — who change their profile pictures to the faces of the hostages and the count of days in captivity, the more their presence will not be erased, their cries will be heard, and the more strength we can send them — to endure one more minute, one more hour, one more day, as we breathe with them and together hold the vision strong of them reunited in the arms of their families NOW. Let us, together, disrupt the status quo and bring them home.

May we courageously envision a future that is liberated from a cycle of hatred, traumatic loss and deep heart ache. One that embodies the words, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”~Buckminster Fuller
So may it be 🙏🕯️❤️🩹🕊️
